Casey Cares Announces 2010 Champion of Children Awards

Baltimore, MD – March 1, 2010 Recognizing donors who have been instrumental in making programs of the Casey Cares Foundation successful in the past year, the Sons of The American Legion and Owens & Minor Distribution have been honored with the Champion of Children Awards. They will be named at the 10th Anniversary Gala for the charity on March 27th, 2010. The Casey Cares Foundation provides uplifting program with a special touch to critically ill children and their families.

The Maryland Sons of The American Legion has been involved with Casey Cares for the past 6 years. Each year they have sponsored the Casey Cares Annual Gala and Annual Golf Tournament and host their own bike ride for Casey Cares over the summers. Over the years they have brought in tens of thousands of dollars for to benefit Casey Cares programs.
Owens & Minor, the nation’s leading distributor of medical and surgical supplies, has supported the Celebration Vacation program , but never miss the opportunity to send tickets for sporting events or gift cards for Casey Cares other programs throughout the years. O & M goes above and beyond with the vacations they sponsor making sure the families have a special opportunity to create lasting memories. Last year they hosted the 5th Annual Bill Heath Golf Tournament where proceeds benefit Casey Cares. Over the years they’ve contributed tens of thousands of dollars through cash and in-kind donations…
The Casey Cares Foundation is proud to announce that this year they will be celebrating a decade of putting smiles on the faces of children with life threatening diseases and their families through their programs. Oover 4,000 children and family members have enjoyed our Birthday Blasts, Caring Connection Parties, Celebration Vacations, Family Festivities, Kami’s Jammies and Better Together programs – not just once a lifetime or once a year, but throughout their illness.
