Hitting the Green for Kids

The Third Annual Casey Cares Golf Tournament turned out to be quite a winner, raising over $34,000 for the children’s charity that provides uplifting programs for critically ill children. Held at the Maryland Golf & Country Club in Bel Air on Monday, July 24th, 120 golfers teed off with a shot-gun start on a beautiful, but difficult, course in perfect, sunny weather. Congratulations to Frank O’Hara, Terry Walsh, Bobby Walsh, and Kin Wright who came in first place with a gross score of 70. Along with their committee members, co-chairs Justin Polun and Beth Wieczorek helped make this tournament the most successful to date. Beth commented, “The support that Casey Cares provides to the children and their families in the program is so important, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to help raise money to support their programs through the golf tournament.” After a fantastic day of golf, players enjoyed a cocktail reception followed by a hearty steak dinner, awards, live and silent auctions, door prizes and a premium raffle to play on four of the area’s best golf courses.
