Sixth Annual Rock and Roll Bash
Casey Cares Rocks-5th Annual Rock and Roll Bash is a Huge Hit in Baltimore
Casey Cares Raises over $90,000 for programs with Annual Rock and Roll Bash
On September 29th Casey Cares
supporters crowded the ballroom at the Marriott
Waterfront hoping to catch a glimpse of their
favorite singers from their childhoods.
Concert goers caught more than a glimpse of
their favorite musicians that evening as
bandmembers from a dozen or so bands played
their hearts out for our critically ill
children. First-time event co-chairs
Ellen and Mike DiMayo did an excellent job
bringing the event to its new location in
Baltimore.
Mark
Rivera of Billy Joel, Jeff Carlisi of 38
Special, Jack Blades of Night Ranger, Christine
Ohlman of Saturday Night Live Band, John Conte
of David Bowie, Jeff Kazee of Bon Jovi, Kelly
Keagy of Night Ranger, and Andy York of John
Mellencamp joined Tony Perkins of FOX 5 Morning
Show fame to bring the crowds to their
feet. The event boasted a full premium
bar, cocktail hour, buffet dinner, a raffle, as
well as live and silent auctions.
All
told, the 5th Annual Rock N' Roll Bash raised
over $90,000 towards programs for our
critically ill children and their special
families. The event would not have been
possible without the support of our
sponsors. Platinum Record Sponsors were
the American Breadcrumb Company, BJS Insurance
and Financial Services, Belman Klein
Associates, Brandon Home Furnishings, The Mike
& Ellen DiMayo Family Foundation, 1st Team
Staffing, Friedlander Benefit Services, Health
Insurance Specialists, Inno-Pak, Gilbert &
Marianne Kuta, and Kevin & Betsy
Meyers. Our Gold Record Sponsor was
Federated Investors.
Silver
Record Sponsors included Academy Mortgage, Acme
Paper & Supply Company, Antwerpen Toyota,
Craig Longenecker DDS, The Tom James Company,
and Williams Asset Management. Media
Sponsors, The Baltimore Sun and 102.7 Jack-FM,
did an excellent job promoting the event, we
couldn't have been happier with the
advertisements!
As
usual, the most touching part of the evening
was when Casey Cares child, and cancer
survivor, Katie Oberman spoke about what the
foundation has meant to her family.
Following a short informational video about
Casey Cares programs, created by Northside
Video, there was not a dry eye in the
house. As usual it wouldn't have happened
without the tireless help of the Casey Cares
Staff, volunteers and in-kind donors.
A
special thanks to Mike Buscher for his
photography, and on such short notice!

I Love Rock and Roll!
On Saturday, September 30th, the Fourth Annual Rock and Roll Bash was held at the Bethesda North Marriott. The evening was filled with food, fun, cocktails, face painting, and a silent and live auction.
The event was graciously hosted by Rockville residents Jon and Eileen Belinkie, along with the help of Casey Cares board members Mike and Ellen DiMayo. Emceed by VH1 Classic’s Lynn Hoffman, over 300 partiers crowded the dance floor for a jam packed night of music from some of Rock and Roll’s very best. Guest musicians included the very talented Nils Lofgren of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, Mark Rivera and Crystal Taliefero of the Billy Joel Band, Eric Martin of Mr. Big, Derek St. Holmes of the Ted Nugent Band,Carmine Appice of Ozzy Osbourne and others. The festivities ended with a surprise performance by the one and only Lesley Gore!
Eleven-year-old Anna and her family joined us from Clarksville for the celebration. The entire audience listened in awe, while Anna recalled how much she values the special programs that she participates in at Casey Cares.
Jon Belinkie commented, “My wife Eileen and I are blessed with four healthy daughters. Anything we are able to give back to people dealing with such a horrific situation is a small price to pay and is truly the least we can do. Supporting the mission of Casey Cares Foundation has been an honor and a privilege for both of us and our children.”
The night’s big winner was John Walsh of New Jersey, who bought the lucky ticket and won a top of the line Home Theater System. A huge thank you goes out to our top sponsors: Health Insurance Specialists, BJ Motors, The Dental Office of Dr. Craig Longenecker, Gold, Leins & Adoff, American Bank, Belman Klein Associates, American Breadcrumb Company, and Retirement Planners and Administrators. We would also like to offer our gratitude to Jerry Frishman Photography. A final thanks to our staff and volunteers for helping make the night such a success. Next year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 29th at the same location. Planning is already in the works, so get ready for a rockin’ time!
